French Children’s Choir

Jeune Choeur d’Ile France – The Youth Choir of greater Paris is returning in July 2017

Jeune Choeur d’Ile de France (Youth Choir of greater Paris) under the direction of Francis Bardot will once again visit St. Pius X Church. Cape Cod is one of the choir’s stops on their 2017 USA Tour. We had the pleasure of hosting these ambassadors of faith and music when they came for their tour in 2013. It is a pleasure to welcome them once again to our community.

This is a wonderful and enriching experience for our parish and the young people of the choir have expressed how much they’ve  loved coming here. We are still looking for people to host the choir and to chaperone for daily events. Please consider hosting and sharing your home for a memorable cultural exchange – we still need 5 more hosts. Those who volunteered their homes during their last visit had a wonderful experience. The choir arrives Saturday July 15th in the afternoon and leaves Tuesday July 18th in the morning.  Their time with you will be short and the commitment is minimal, as their schedule is busy. Mostly they need a place to sleep, shower, have a few meals and be given a few rides to SPX parking lot to catch their bus to their next concert or Mass.

They will tour Cape Cod, singing at Masses and concerts, including the 4:00 PM Mass here at St. Pius X on July 15th and a concert at our parish  on Monday evening July 17th. All parishioners, relatives and friends are welcome to attend an enjoyable evening of music. A reception will follow the concert in the Parish Life Center. There will be an opportunity for those who attend the concert to meet the choir. Our Lady of Victory in Centerville will also be enjoying these talented young people on Sunday, July 16th.

People who are unable to help with hosting but can assist in other ways are needed as well. Please contact Mark Girardin at stpiusxmusic@comcast.net, if you are interested in hosting and/or helping. You may also stop by the organ after Mass and speak with Mark, Kevin or Deacon Bill.
